The 17th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is just around the corner! We covered the 16th hot air balloon fest last year and saw some pretty nifty-looking balloons hit the skies including ones shaped like Darth Vader’s head (of course I’d remember THAT first. Heh), beer barrels, and the usual ho-hum standard balloons. Didn’t get to ride one but it was a blast running like mad for interviews with experts, organizers and visitors during the event. This year’s hot air balloon fest will run from Feb. 9 to 12 at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. Hopefully I get lucky and still get to cover it, if not, good luck to the rookie reporters who will no doubt be sent over to do it instead.
